The Watchmen

I mentioned before about the wave of super-hero films, well, here is another one. Weighing in at around two and a half hours it is a lengthy film indeed, but with the need to fill in all the background to the rich world Alan Moore created, it isn't a bad thing. I had kept clear of the graphic novel until I saw the film but having seen it, it would be interesting to read the novel and see how close the film was. It certainly felt slightly odd in the finest tradition of modern comics and was an excellent, if very violent film overall.

I said (only half-jokingly) to my friends after seeing it that it was graphically very violent, but I suspect the 18 certificate was because of the sex scene in the film, rather than the violence.
